When is a penthouse not a penthouse?

“A genuine penthouse must be far more substantial in size than the other apartments in the building, and offer a level of luxury and refinement of the highest order,” selling agent Stephen Vitale said.

This off-the-plan penthouse in the Siskas development on McCabe Street does, by the Mr Vitale’s measure, tick the penthouse box categorically. Its size – over 500sq.m in total –and its position on the top of the highest developed hill on the coastal strip between river and sea both mark it out as exceptional.

The penthouse is due to be completed in June 2021, and will run the length of the building’s seventh floor. This enables it to take in around 300-degrees of the possible 360-degree view.

“Every aspect of every room will have water views; it’s spectacular,” Mr Vitale said. Buying off-the-plan will allow the owners to work with the builder and designer to customise the four-bedroom apartment to their specifications before it’s built. With the two other penthouse apartments already sold for $4.9 million to buyers from North Fremantle and Mosman Park, Stephen said it was clear the local demand was high for a luxury home with no gardens or land to care for.

For future-hungry mavericks, the penthouse’s exclusive access to a rooftop VTOL (vertical take off and, landing) drone pad will put you at the forefront of an emerging form of air transport.
